“When I finally understood my worth & value, that is when I started sewing my own cape. I became my favorite superhero & I want to inspire Latinas to sew their own too” ~ Diana Pinedo
From the language, to the food, to the community, I even contemplated moving to Mexico to study to truly be a part of who I am. I, very much like Selena, never really felt American enough to be American or Mexican enough to be Mexican, dealing with the duality of my own identity. As I got older I just learned to embrace both, being 100% American, and 100% Latina. I’m extremely passionate about my culture and helping to inspire the next generation of Latina leaders.
I graduated Cal State Northridge with a B.A in Communication Studies & Business Marketing with an emphasis in Spanish Journalism. I’ve been in my Marketing career for over 10 years and developed expertise in digital media, multicultural marketing, entertainment and healthcare advertising. I’ve worked on the corporate side as well as the start-up side and no matter the size I firmly believe that inspiring others, embracing challenges, adding value and impact and creating new ways of thinking are key to being successful in any organization, whether the one you create or the one that you join.

Within each role I’ve intentionally and purposefully been an advocate for Latinas and multicultural audiences and found that there was a huge gap in the understanding and representation of this demographic. With that understanding along with my own personal journey of being a Latina I created Ms. Informed Latina, a platform dedicated to helping disenfranchised communities of color with a focus on young Latinas navigate adult life by equipping them with the right information, tools and advice to make more informed decisions. When I graduated college in 2009 (during the recession) it was tough and I navigated my adult life so blindly from poorly managing my finances (401Que?) to resume writing and interviewing, to health and personal development. I made so many poor decisions because I didn’t know any better, I was well, misInformed. Neither college nor my Latina upbringing really prepared me for adult life basics. So I decided to get informed (hence Ms. Informed Latina) and share my findings so that other Latinas never have to feel like I did, misguided, lost and misinformed.
This platform is my opportunity to provide young Latinas with better resources, tools, and structure to help them make more INFORMED decisions to live a prosperous and purposeful life. I am here to be a coach, mentor, bestie, prima, and amiga. I want to welcome you and tell you how grateful I am that you stopped by and hope that you learn something new and to reassure you that it’s ok not to know it all or have all the answers, we are in this together, juntas somos poderosas.
